The much anticipated event of the spring season proved to be a success once again! The 27th annual Great Chefs & Wineries on April 22, 2017, hosted by Honorary Chairman Huey Lewis, boasted over 500 guests in attendance to raise funds for Lifehouse.
This event wouldn’t be possible without the help of key members and supporters in our community. Peacock Gap Clubhouse, our venue sponsor, provided the beautiful space for the evening. Guests were able to indulge on food from some of the best restaurants from the Bay Area, including favorites like Insalata’s, owned by Culinary Host Chef Heidi Insalata Krahling and Chef David Haydon’sIl Davide. We also welcomed first year restaurants EPIC Steak, Picco Restaurant, Playa, Spoonbar, and Waterbar. We are also thankful to welcome Alpha Omega Winery and Littorai Wines, along with over 20 renowned Bay Area wineries at the event.
We had a successful first year in mobile bidding with the help of our volunteers, Gesture, Damon Casatico and Charity Benefit Auction. The evening featured hundreds of attractive silent auction items, popular premier live items, and a classic showcase of live items. Lifehouse Performers energized the event, and Chairman and emcee Huey Lewis spearheaded our paddle raise with his own donation of $10,000.00. Before the evening wrapped up with a nostalgic performance from the Atlantic City Boys, we raffled off a beautiful diamond necklace that was custom-made for Lifehouse by Cresalia Jewewlers.
With the generosity and support from the community, we were able to raise over $580,000 to help Lifehouse continue to respond to the increased needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. Great Chefs & Wineries raises more than half the amount we must raise each year to meet our budget. With the success of our event, we were able to provide more than 500,000 hours of support services this past year. Your support truly makes a difference. We look forward to seeing you again next year on April 21, 2018.
