A Bay Area tradition since 1956 offering spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Angel Island, San Francisco and the hills of Tiburon. Its menu offers the ultimate in classic Euro-American cuisine. Trip Advisor and Yelp reviewers say, “Tiburon Elegance,” “Great Romantic Spot,” “Delightful in Every Aspect,” “A Very Special Place to Eat” and “Great Little Intimate Gem.” The Caprice is the place to go whether you’re celebrating a very special occasion, pondering the panoramic view, or simply want to dine on deliciously prepared food. Other restaurants have come and gone in Tiburon, but The Caprice in its stately manner continues to face the wind and waves fearlessly. Executive Chef Juan Salazar will be treating this year’s Great Chefs & Wineries’ guests to Scallop and Chorizo Paella.
This year, Great Chefs & Wineries adds 10 new wineries into the evening’s mix. Today we meet just a few of the participants making their first Great Chefs & Wineries appearance who are sure to bring a new perspective to the event!

Meet…MacPhail Family Wines
Absolute minimal intervention is the foundation of winemaking at MacPhail. James relies on native yeasts for fermentation. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally, without his introducing a culture. “My goal is to produce food friendly wines with subtlety, elegance and finesse, all qualities I want in my life and expect to share with my customers,” says James. His wines are fruit-focused with appropriate amounts of oak, acidity and tannin. “I like full flavors without compromising balance. I enjoy complexity and mystery too, and I appreciate the challenges and rewards of making natural wines.”
